Sep 29, 2023

Almost 85,000 Armenians have already moved to Armenia from Karabakh because they did not want to stay in the region after it returned to Azerbaijani control.

This was reported by Radio Azatutyun.

The Armenian government reported that as of 6:00 a.m. on September 29, 84,770 internally displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh had crossed the Armenian border.

According to the 2015 census, about 145,000 people lived in the region, almost all of them ethnic Armenians. Thus, most of its inhabitants have already left Karabakh.
