Norway has decided to impose sanctions against a number of oligarchs who are attempting to destabilize the situation in Moldova.
This was stated by Moldovan President Maia Sandu, Infotag reports.
"Norway has also joined the EU sanctions. And on June 1, Canada also announced the imposition of sanctions. All these countries will help us stop those who want to destabilize Moldova and deprive it of its future," Sandu said.
According to her, the sanctions list "remains open" and may be updated with new names.
"As soon as there is new evidence that some people are involved in destabilizing actions, and want to drag Moldova into war, these people risk being on the list. This is an ongoing process. The collected evidence is sent to European institutions, which study it and make decisions," Sandu said.
