Numerous explosions occurred in Kyiv
On Thursday, May 4, numerous explosions were heard in the capital of Ukraine during an air raid alert. Several air targets were detected in the Kyiv region. An air defense system shot down a drone in the capital, and its wreckage caused a fire.
The air alert in Kyiv was announced at 20:00. Reports of explosions started coming in around 20:15.
OBOZREVATEL correspondents reported drones in the sky over Kyiv. Local residents said they heard continuous explosions in different parts of the capital, as well as shootings.
The KCIA reported that air defense was operating and urged Kyiv residents to remain calm and stay in shelters.
The Brovary City Council also reported on Telegram that air defense was operating in the Kyiv region and urged people not to leave their shelters until the fire was dismissed.
"Several air targets were detected over the Kyiv region. There was no information that they were "shaheds," the monitoring groups said. "Stay calm and take cover! Mobile air defense groups are working," the Brovary City Council said in a statement.
