May 22, 2023

On the evening of May 21, the power supply was cut off in many districts of Simferopol and the suburbs. The occupation authorities of Crimea claimed a "technological outage" but did not name the cause of the problem.

In particular, the adviser to the occupation "head of Crimea" Oleg Kryuchkov said as of 23:11 that "the automation worked". He promised that the power would return to the homes of Simferopol residents "in 30-40 minutes".

"At 22:49, as a result of a technological failure on the 110 kV line, the power supply was partially cut off in Simferopol. The disconnected load amounted to 42 MW," Kryuchkov said.

According to him, Krymenergo employees are eliminating the consequences of the accident, and "the work will be completed as soon as possible."
