Russian occupiers in the seized Energodar, Zaporizhzhia region, are setting up barracks and ammunition depots in the basements of residential buildings, fearing an offensive by Ukraine's defenders. This was reported by the press service of NAEC Energoatom in Telegram on Friday, January 13.

According to Energoatom, there have been repeatedly recorded cases when Russians, under cover of civilians, set up permanent locations in the basements of civilian buildings. For example, about 50 occupiers live in the basement of the house where the Office of Social Programs is located.

"In addition, the invaders in Energodar constantly bring some large boxes into the basements of residential buildings - probably with weapons or explosives. This happens at night, and while the "process" continues, several occupiers keep an eye on the windows of the house in order to protect themselves from unwanted bystanders," the company added.

The NAEC reported that the occupants, in particular, set up an explosive warehouse in the building of the communications center near the city executive committee. The company urged the residents of Energodar to avoid the accumulation of Russian military and be careful.
