“Some countries, in particular the United Kingdom and the United States, have sanctioned some of the key executives of Rosatom, namely the head of the board, Likhachev,” Vlasyuk said.

The Commissioner for Sanctions Policy emphasized that this step is not enough and Ukraine will continue to work in this direction.

In particular, this concerns the supply of Russian nuclear fuel. According to Vlasiuk, the US Congress has already decided that the US will gradually reduce its supplies.

“We are also talking to other countries on this topic. I think that there is a significant request in the European Parliament to reduce the EU's energy dependence on Russian nuclear fuel, at least gradually,” he said.

Vlasyuk added that there is movement, but “not as fast as we want”.
