Aug 4, 2023

The Ministers of the Interior of Poland and Lithuania have coordinated plans to respond to possible new provocations from Belarus, including the potential closure of the border with Belarus.

According to Yevropeiska Pravda, this is stated in a joint communiqué after a conversation between Polish Interior Minister Mariusz Kamiński and Lithuanian Minister Agne Bilotaite.

The ministers discussed the current situation on the border with Belarus and Poland's coordination with Lithuania and other Baltic states in this context.

"We agreed on mechanisms to respond to threats that may arise from Belarus and potential future provocations in the border area. We also discussed the mechanism that would be used if necessary to close all border crossings with Belarus, which would result in the isolation of the Lukashenko regime," the statement said.
