Aug 7, 2024

The Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of Poland, Tomasz Siemianiak, has announced the completion of a new bill designed to reform the country's civil defense system in light of the challenges of Russia's full-scale aggression against Ukraine.

He said this on the air on Polish Radio.

According to Siemianiak, the Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Defense, and Ministry of Finance are "working very intensively" to finalize the document on Thursday, August 8, and submit it to the government.

He added that the project "is revolutionary, it changes the civil defense system" and "entails multibillion-dollar costs."

"All the details need to be worked out well. There are also local authorities, because we want local authorities to be very actively involved in this system, so they have many questions, many expectations," the Polish Interior Minister emphasized.
