Reuters: US troops wounded in drone attack in Syria
Several American soldiers were wounded in Syria on Friday as a result of a drone attack.
Reuters learned about this from a US official, Yevropeiska Pravda reports.
This was the second major attack on U.S. troops in recent days amid rising tensions in the Middle East.
Initially, the US military claimed no casualties as a result of the drone attack. However, more detailed information showed that some servicemen suffered minor injuries. In particular, some suffered from smoke inhalation.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity on Saturday, said none of the injuries were serious, but some soldiers were still examined for head injuries.
Several soldiers were transferred to another location for further examination, the official added.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but similar attacks have been carried out in the past by Iranian-backed groups.
