The Romanian government adopted an emergency decree on Wednesday that provides a "sustainable framework" to support Ukrainian refugees.
This was announced by the government spokesman Dan Cherbunaru, Digi24 reports.
According to Cherbunaru, the resolution adopted on Wednesday "establishes the possibility of providing a monthly lump sum for a maximum of four consecutive months, starting from May 1, 2023, to cover the cost of food and accommodation in Romania for families and single persons who benefit from the European solution in this area".
In the case of accommodation provided by county councils, fixed amounts for food and accommodation will be paid by the unit providing the accommodation.
The spokesman added that one-time assistance will be provided only if the beneficiary provides evidence of employment or enrollment of minors in educational institutions. According to Cherbunaru, this is how integration is stimulated.
