Russia has declared 10 representatives of the Norwegian Embassy in Moscow and the Defense Attaché's office undesirable on its territory.
This was announced by the Russian Foreign Ministry in a statement on Wednesday, according to Yevropeiska Pravda.
According to the statement, on April 26, the Russian Foreign Ministry summoned Norwegian Ambassador Robert Kvile. He was given a "strong protest" in connection with Oslo's decision to expel 15 diplomats of the Russian Embassy in Norway and the staff of the military attaché.
"This hostile step has further aggravated the situation in bilateral relations, which are already at a critically low level," the Russian ministry said.
Kvile was handed a note declaring 10 representatives of the Norwegian Embassy in Moscow and the Defense Attaché's office persona non grata in response.
The Norwegian ambassador was also informed of restrictions on the hiring of Russian citizens by Norwegian diplomatic missions.
