Russia has increased production of weapons for war

Aug 15, 2024

Russia has increased the production of weapons for the war against Ukraine. At the same time, Russian manufacturers have postponed contracts for the sale of weapons to key international partners.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the British Ministry of Defense on Twitter (X).

The report reminded that the Army-2024 arms exhibition was recently held in the Moscow region. The event usually attracts Russian and foreign defense manufacturers, but international attendance has declined since the start of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine.

In previous years, this event was held in conjunction with the Russian Army International Games, which were canceled again this year. This time, according to British intelligence, the exhibition was focused on attracting business representatives from the defense industry rather than the general public.

The exhibition was attended by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, who said that the war in Ukraine is “an armed conflict between Russia and the collective West.”

The exhibition was also attended by representatives from Belarus, Iran, and North Korea.

“Russian arms manufacturers are forced to increase production to support the war in Ukraine. Some foreign contracts for sales to key international partners have been postponed due to the need to supply Russian forces,” the report said.
