Russia is preparing a false flag operation in the Black Sea amid a series of Russian strikes on Odesa, the Danube infrastructure, and the abandonment of the grain deal.
This was stated by US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller, RBC-Ukraine reports citing his video briefing.
"We have information indicating that they (Russia - ed.) are apparently preparing a false flag operation. They have threatened vessels operating in international waters, and then today they attacked the Danube," Miller said.
According to him, the United States will continue to consult with partners in the region on alternative ways to export grain from Ukraine.
At the same time, the US State Department spokesman noted that an ideal solution that would allow Ukraine to ship the same amount of grain as during the Black Sea Grain Initiative without restoring sea routes is "impossible."
