The strike hit the positions of "units covering the state border of the Russian Federation in the areas of the settlements of Nikolayevo-Daryino and Oleshnya in the Kursk region, directly adjacent to the Russian-Ukrainian border."

Now, the state border guard troops, together with the border troops of the Russian FSB, are trying to repel the attack.

Local TV channels broadcast videos of explosions and fighter jets flying low overhead.
