Scholz wants a trial in cases of undermining Nord Stream

Aug 15, 2023

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has called for a trial in the cases of sabotage on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines.

He said this during a speech in his constituency in Potsdam, DW reports.

"We will find out who it was as far as possible. And if we don't like the result, we will not give up the lawsuit. No one can count on discounts here," the German chancellor said.

According to Scholz, there is no evidence that the United States or the United Kingdom is behind the attacks.

The investigation by the German Prosecutor General's Office is still ongoing.

As you know, the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines were blown up in September 2022 at the bottom of the Baltic Sea. Denmark, Sweden, and Germany have launched their own investigations into the incident.
