The United States, along with other allies and partners, continues to discuss security guarantees for Ukraine before it joins NATO, but the content of these discussions will not be disclosed.
This was stated by Amanda Slott, Senior Director for European Affairs at the White House National Security Council, at a briefing for journalists on Friday, according to a Yevropeiska Pravda correspondent.
The White House spokeswoman confirmed that the United States "continues to talk with Ukraine, along with other allies and partners, about how we can best assure Ukraine of their long-term security to deter any future aggression after this war ends".
"But for now, these conversations are ongoing. At this stage, I cannot go into the details of what we are discussing," Slot emphasized.
The official only noted that at the NATO summit - where such security guarantees are expected to be announced - the United States will assure that it will continue to work harder to ensure that "Ukraine remains democratic, independent, sovereign and prosperous".
"At this point, I can't say anything ahead of time other than we remain extremely committed to continuing to provide the support that Ukraine needs. So we're discussing with them the structures and formats that will allow us to do that effectively," the US National Security Council spokesperson explained.
