Senators call on Biden to transfer ATACMS missiles to Ukraine

Four Republican senators have called on U.S. President Joe Biden to immediately transfer ATACMS missiles to Ukraine.
RBC-Ukraine reported this with reference to a letter from the senators.
"We are writing to you with an urgent request to immediately send MGM-140 Army Tactical Air Defense Missile Systems (ATACMS) to Ukraine. Any further delay will only further undermine U.S. national security interests and prolong this conflict," Senators Roger Wicker, Tom Cotton, Susana Collins, and Lindsey Graham wrote in a letter.
They emphasize that the provision of ATACMS will allow Ukraine to strike key Russian logistics and communications facilities, as well as cruise missile and drone launch sites in Russia-occupied Ukraine.
"In particular, the ATACMS variant with a long-range unitary warhead should be sent immediately. The recent Ukrainian strike on the Sevastopol naval port using the British long-range weapon Storm Shadow demonstrated the combat effectiveness of such weapons," the letter says.-
It adds that providing missiles to Ukraine will maximize the likelihood of success of its current counter-offensive and subsequent operations. ATACMS can also increase Ukraine's ability to destroy Russian defense forces.
