Shmyhal met with the Pentagon chief and asked for fighter jets

During his visit to the United States, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with Pentagon Secretary Lloyd Austin.

This was reported by CNN.

At the end of the meeting, Shmyhal asked Austin to provide Ukraine with F-15 and F-16 fighters, as well as long-range missiles.

"We will win this war, but in order to achieve this goal sooner and with fewer losses, Ukraine will need more military support," the Ukrainian prime minister said.

Austin did not comment on specific requests but promised to expand the production of military equipment in the United States for Ukraine.

"We will continue to invest in our own defense industrial base to further increase production," he said.
