President of Finland Alexander Stubb believes that Kyiv has the right to defend itself against Russian aggression, including in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

He said this on Tuesday during a visit to the Åland Islands, Yevropeiska Pravda reports, citing the Finnish broadcaster Yle.

According to Stubb, Ukraine has every right to defend itself as it moves into the Kursk region, as Russia regularly bombs the Ukrainian capital Kyiv and has occupied large Ukrainian territories.

"The fact that Ukraine is ultimately defending itself in the Kursk direction, having penetrated some forces about 30-40 kilometers deep into the country, they have every right to do so. We see no reason to restrict the activities of Ukrainians," the Finnish president said.

Stubb also said that Ukraine could use the weapons provided by Finland on Russian territory.

"We have no restrictions on what weapons Ukraine can use and how. The starting point is that Ukraine has every right to defend itself within the framework of international law," he added.
