Spain has the opportunity to train 2,400 Ukrainian soldiers a year in the framework of the recently approved EU mission.
This was announced by Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles, writes Euractiv.
"We are making a proposal to train a total of 400 soldiers every two months. I would like to say that the capacity we have is about 2,400 soldiers a year. That's the proposal, the total capacity that we have," Robles said.
To that end, the Spanish military academy in Toledo has been adapted so that Ukrainian soldiers can have adequate living conditions to perform their training tasks.
Spain now trains a total of 112 Ukrainian soldiers, the minister said.
