It should be clearly understood that these are only officially confirmed cases of the disease, as almost all residents of the country have been infected. For example, in the family of the author of this material, only one person out of six was diagnosed, although we all had the corona two or three times. And even antibody tests confirm this.

Returning to the Ministry of Health data, we should add that 112,268 Ukrainians have died as a result of the disease (89 of them are children, 1256 are healthcare workers).

"COVID-19 is no longer a public health emergency of international importance... However, this does not mean that COVID-19 has ceased to be a threat, it is only evidence that vaccination of the population worldwide has yielded results and has reduced the number of hospitalizations and deaths due to the disease," the statement said.

As a reminder, on May 5, WHO announced the end of the COVID-19 pandemic. The coronavirus is no longer considered a global health emergency. At the same time, the publication of the Strategic Plan for COVID-19 Preparedness and Response for 2023-2025 was announced. States are encouraged to continue to follow the issued Interim Guidelines.

It is known that during the pandemic, 764 million cases of infections and at least 7 million deaths have been recorded worldwide.
