The United States has decided to increase its military presence in the Middle East to protect U.S. troops and help defend Israel in the face of escalating threats from Iran and its proxies.
Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh said this at a briefing on Friday, August 2, according to Yevropeiska Pravda.
According to Singh, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin plans to order the redeployment of forces in the Middle East.
The move is intended to "strengthen the protection of U.S. troops throughout the region, provide enhanced support for Israel's defense, and ensure that the United States is prepared to respond to this evolving crisis," she added.
