The Rada increased defense spending by half a trillion hryvnias

The Verkhovna Rada has approved the overall amendments to the state budget for 2024. Defense spending will increase by UAH 495 billion.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak on Telegram.

According to him, the draft law No. 11417 was supported by 298 MPs.

According to MP Iryna Gerashchenko, the law adjusted the expenditure side of the state budget by UAH 434.6 billion.

In particular, expenditures under certain budget programs were increased by UAH 500.3 billion (including UAH 495.3 billion for the security and defense sector) and expenditures were reduced by UAH 65.7 billion.

Thus, the total state budget expenditures will amount to UAH 3 trillion 737 billion, while revenues will amount to UAH 1 trillion 911 billion.

Defense spending was the main priority of the budget for 2024. In the current budget, they amounted to UAH 1 trillion 693 billion.
