The second peace summit does not mean the beginning of negotiations

Aug 9, 2024

The second peace summit will not mean the start of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. The aggressor country is only going to be presented with a peace plan.

According to RBC-Ukraine, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, said this in an interview with Yevropeiska Pravda.

He emphasized that a representative of Russia may come to the second summit. Ukraine and other participants plan to submit to him an agreed plan for the implementation of all points of the peace formula.

"But this does not mean the beginning of negotiations with Russia. No, this is not what we are talking about. We want even such a meeting, where this plan can be presented, to take place not in the Ukraine-Russia format, but in the presence of all the countries that supported our plan," said Yermak.

Also, in response to a question about the possibility of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's participation in the peace summit, the head of the OP stressed that it is too early to talk about it.
