Official Washington has expressed concern over the appearance of an Azerbaijani checkpoint in the Lachin corridor, the main transportation artery between Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.
According to Yevropeiska Pravda, a statement was issued by the US State Department's Chief Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel.
He noted that the United States is deeply concerned that Baku has set up a checkpoint in the Lachin corridor, as it undermines confidence in the peace process.
"We emphasize that the free and open movement of people and goods through the Lachin corridor must be ensured, and we urge the parties to resume peace talks and refrain from provocations and unfriendly actions along the border," Vedant Patel said.
