The US has allocated a new aid package to Ukraine worth $375 million

The administration of U.S. President Joe Biden has announced additional defense assistance for Ukraine. It includes the authorization of a package worth $375 million.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the White House.

In a statement, the Biden administration said that the additional security assistance announced by the Pentagon today is intended to “ensure that Ukraine has the tools it needs to win the fight against Russian aggression.”

The White House explained that this includes “authorizing a package of Presidential Directives (PDAs) valued at $375 million” to provide Ukraine with additional capabilities “to meet its most pressing needs.”

These include air-to-surface weapons; ammunition for missile systems and artillery; armored vehicles; and anti-tank weapons, the White House added.

What is included in the aid package:

  • air-to-surface ammunition,
  • ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS),
  • artillery ammunition of 155 mm and 105 mm caliber,
  • tube-launched, optically tracked, and wire-guided missiles (TOW),
  • Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems,
  • armored personnel carriers M1117 Armored Security Vehicles,
  • Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles (MRAP),
  • light tactical vehicles,
  • armored bridge systems,
  • small arms,
  • patrol boats,
  • explosive equipment and ammunition,
  • spare parts, auxiliary equipment, services, training, and transportation.

The White House added that this is the 66th tranche of equipment from the Biden administration, which “will be provided from the Department of Defense's stockpile for Ukraine starting in August 2021.”
