The White House: Let the Ukrainians tell us what they are doing
The White House was unable to answer the question of whether Ukraine has launched the expected counteroffensive to liberate the territories seized by Russia.
This was stated at a briefing by US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, according to Yevropeiska Pravda.
"As you know, this is not like the D-Day landings on the beach (the Allied landings in Normandy in 1944 - ed.). These types of warfare are more dynamic, multi-layered, multi-faceted," Sullivan said.
He refused to say whether the Ukrainian Defense Forces have launched an offensive.
"Let the Ukrainians characterize and describe what they are doing. I can only say that there is intense fighting in some parts of Ukraine, as we have seen recently in the fighting around Bakhmut," Sullivan said.
