Former US President Donald Trump has harshly criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, accusing him of being unwilling to make a deal to resolve the war with Russia. According to him, the Ukrainian leader “refused to make a deal” that could have prevented the destruction of the country.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to CNN.

“These cities are no longer there, and we continue to give billions of dollars to a man who refused to make a deal. There was no deal that was not better than the current situation. Ukraine is destroyed and beyond repair,” Trump said.

The former president also criticized the administration of U.S. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for their continued support of Ukraine. Trump has made it clear that if he is re-elected, he will stop helping Kyiv.

He also suggested that with a “competent president,” the conflict could have been avoided.

“Every time Zelenskyy comes to our country, he leaves with $60 billion. He's probably the biggest trader on Earth,” Trump said.

Trump also blamed Biden and Harris for Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Trump reiterated that he got along “very well” with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and “talked to him a lot” when he was president.

Trump has long praised Putin and even sided with him when U.S. intelligence reported Russian interference in the 2016 election.
