Turkey is planning to create its own anti-missile system, which it has dubbed "Steel Dome".
According to Yevropeiska Pravda, this was stated by the head of the Turkish Defense Industry Agency Haluk Görgün, quoted by AFP.
The project will be led by state-owned defense companies such as Aselsan, Roketsan, and MKE, as well as the public research group Tubitak Sage.
"Our national Steel Dome project will allow us to integrate our air defense systems, our sensors, and our weapons into a single network," Görgyün said.
"The Steel Dome is supposed to be an umbrella covering Turkish airspace and respond to threats "from the lowest to the highest altitudes" and at short and long ranges.-
The SSB did not provide more information about the project in response to the agency's requests.
