The U.S. plans to speed up the process of transferring Abrams tanks to Ukraine. And work on this is already underway.
This is reported by Bloomberg with reference to the statement of the coordinator for strategic communications of the National Security Council at the White House, John Kirby.
According to him, the Pentagon would have more to say soon about a revised timetable “to see if we can get Abrams tanks to Ukraine a little bit faster than previously expected”.
“There’s some some changes that you can make to the process to sort of speed that up," Kirby said.
As a reminder, back in January, the United States announced that it would transfer its Abrams M1 battle tanks to Ukraine. We are talking about 31 units.
It was reported that the United States could send the Ukrainians Abrams tanks from its own stock, which would significantly speed up deliveries compared to the purchase of new equipment.
It was also reported earlier that it might take the United States more than a year to deliver Abrams to Ukraine.
