Ukraine confirms it will demand reparations from Russia in The Hague

The government of Ukraine has not yet decided on the number of financial claims against Russia in the framework of the Convention on the Prohibition of Genocide. Still, there is a decision that this claim will be made.

This was stated at a briefing in The Hague by Ukraine's agent in the process, Ambassador Anton Korynevych, according to a Yevropeiska Pravda correspondent.

As YevroPravda reported in an article about the process the day before, Ukraine has plans to make financial demands on Russia as well. Korynevych confirmed this information and emphasized that Ukraine deliberately included references to Ukraine's financial losses in its speeches in The Hague.

"Reparations will be an important part of our case. We emphasized this to the court - I, as an agent of Ukraine, and other representatives (of the legal team involved in the trial in The Hague) spoke about it," he said.
