Ukraine is ready for the second peace summit

Ukraine is preparing to host the second peace summit. But so far, Russia has categorically denied its participation in the event.

In early December last year, the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, said that Ukraine and its partners had developed a joint peace framework that would form the basis for the second peace summit.

In fact, the head of the Office confirmed that the work on the peace plan, which Kyiv called a condition for holding the second peace summit, had been completed.

At the end of December, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Heorhiy Tykhyi clarified that Ukraine had “prepared everything” for the second peace summit.

“Ukraine is now in a strong diplomatic position, as everything is prepared, but of course, preparation is needed for this summit to take place and be effective. The dates (of the summit - ed.) that were announced were tentative,” he emphasized.

Tychy explained that Ukraine wants the summit to be effective, so it will not hold “events for the sake of events.”
