The UK Ministry of Defense has dismissed concerns about the slow pace of Ukraine's counteroffensive, saying that operations are going according to plan.
This was stated by James Hippey, Minister of the Armed Forces at the UK Ministry of Defense, in an interview with The Telegraph.
According to him, Ukraine's counteroffensive is taking place in accordance with the plan developed jointly with the UK and the US in the winter.
The minister noted that Kyiv is exercising "due caution" by refusing to send large numbers of people and Western weapons through dense Russian minefields.
He added that the Ukrainian military retains sufficient firepower to make a breakthrough when the time comes.
"Ukraine is currently meeting our expectations. They are generally following the plan that they developed with us, the Americans, and others over the past winter. This is not a Hollywood movie. There will not be a moment when tanks move, music starts playing, a military clip starts playing, and then - at the end - victory by September," Hippe emphasized.
