Ukraine will receive two Wisent 1 demining vehicles
Germany has sent additional Wisent 1 armored demining vehicles to Ukraine. In total, the Germans have already handed over four of these vehicles to break through minefields.
The equipment consists of the Wisent 1 armored support vehicle from FFG, equipped with a full-size mine blade from Pearson Engineering. It is based on a modified hull of the Leopard 1 main battle tank with the turret removed.
In addition, the Wisеnt 1 MC is equipped with a lane marking system that allows the oncoming troops to safely pass through cleared fields.
Ballistic protection following the NATO STANAG 4569 Level 5 standard and Level 3 mine protection ensure the highest possible crew safety.
As reported, in early 2023, Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft (FFG) and Pearson Engineering announced that they had received a contract to supply special equipment to Ukraine for demining.
Earlier it was reported that several Ukrainian demining vehicles were damaged in the counteroffensive.
