Ukraine will soon have a new strike drone

The possibility of return means that drones will not only attack enemy targets once but will be able to do it several times.

Ukraine will soon have a new strike drone in service. Today it is almost ready and is being tested.

This was stated by Oleh Boldyrev, Project Manager of the Ukrainian State Concern "Ukroboronprom", in an interview with "Nastoyasche Vremya".

According to him, the development is similar to the Iranian kamikaze drone "Shahed", but has a peculiarity. These drones will be returnable. The flight range is 1000 kilometers. The weight of the warhead is 75 kilograms. The possibility of return means that the drones will not only attack enemy targets once but will be able to do it several times.

"It (the drone - ed.) already exists. I would call it "patient zero". The machine flies, talking about a strike drone, we are talking about a kamikaze version. But we, Ukrainians, are very greedy people. We will have "kamikaze" with the possibility of return," he said.

Boldyrev noted that drones are partially made of foreign components.

"Almost all UAVs consist partially of foreign components. This is an honest answer. I'm sorry, but Ukraine does not make video cameras of the required permit," he said.
