Ukrainian company Skyeton, which produces ACS-3/Raybird-3 reconnaissance systems, has launched production in Slovakia. The construction of the new plant cost $3.5 million.
This was reported by Defence Industry Europe.
The ACS-3/Raybird-3 reconnaissance systems manufactured by Skyeton have been in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine since 2018. Each such system consists of three drones, a ground control station, antenna system, launcher, as well as a video camera, a still camera, and radar. The cost of such a system is $1.2 million. The Raybird-3 reconnaissance drones can stay in the air for 28 hours, cover a distance of up to 2,500 km and climb up to 4,500 meters in height.
According to Defence Industry Europe, Ukraine can produce about 100 reconnaissance systems per year, while the Ukrainian army needs 140 systems per year. Therefore, the new plant in Slovakia will help bridge this gap and should provide a strategic advantage. It can produce 25 systems per year, the article says.
From February 2022 to May 2024, Skyeton received orders for more than 75 reconnaissance systems from the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
