The United States of America and the European Union are approaching an agreement on the specific terms of providing Ukraine with $50 billion in financial assistance using the proceeds of Russia's frozen assets.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Bloomberg.
According to the publication's sources, the United States has informed the European Union that it will contribute $20 billion to a large-scale aid package for Ukraine led by the G7 if the EU changes its legislation on sanctions against Russia and provides more guarantees that Russian assets will remain immobilized.
It is noted that even if the EU does not make changes, the United States will still contribute to the planned $50 billion package, but with a smaller amount.
