American General Mark Milley left the post of chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States of America.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Reuters.
During his final speech as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Milley alluded to former US President Donald Trump, calling him a "copycat dictator".
"We don't swear an oath to a king or a queen, a tyrant or a dictator. We don't swear an oath to a copycat dictator. We don't swear an oath to an individual. We swear to the Constitution," the general said.
In turn, US President Joe Biden called Milly "steadfast in the face of danger" and recalled how he "once ran across a mined bridge to prevent two battle tanks evacuating wounded servicemen from passing through it."
"Mark, your partnership was invaluable to me," the head of state added.-
Milley handed over command to Air Force Chief General Charles Brown.
