US prepares new $300 million military aid package for Ukraine

The United States is planning to announce a new military aid package for Ukraine worth up to $300 million, which will mainly include additional ammunition.

Two official sources told Reuters on Thursday.

The new package of US military aid to Ukraine is expected to include more HIMARS multiple-launch rocket systems and ammunition.

The military equipment in the package is planned to be obtained by Ukraine from the US Army's stockpiles through the Presidential Drawdown Authority.

A new aid package for Ukraine may be announced as early as Friday, but it may be finalized after the Memorial Day holiday weekend in the United States, Reuters sources said.
