The Joe Biden administration will announce a new $300 million military aid package for Ukraine on May 3.

The aid package will reportedly include 155-mm howitzers, ammunition for HIMARS and Howitzer guns, TOW anti-tank missiles, and mortars. Also, for the first time, the United States will provide Ukraine with Hydra 70 short-range missiles, the publication writes, citing a source.
It is noted that Hydra 70 missiles can help Ukraine weaken Russian ground forces and provide Ukrainian ground forces with air support during a counteroffensive.
Sources in the White House also said that the list of weapons could still change.
The aid package, Reuters writes, will be funded by the Presidential Drawdown Authority program, which provides that the US president can transfer US weapons during an emergency without congressional approval.
