The meeting of U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen with Chinese officials was "productive" and "direct" and had a "positive impact" on U.S.-China relations.
This was reported by Reuters.
Yellen said that U.S. President Joe Biden does not view U.S.-China relations through the prism of a great power conflict.
"We believe that the world is big enough for both of our countries to thrive," she said.
The minister also said that her visit was aimed at establishing and deepening ties with China's new economic team, reducing the risk of misunderstanding and creating conditions for cooperation in areas such as climate change and debt issues.
"I do think we've made some progress and I think we can have a healthy economic relationship that benefits both of us and the world," Yellen emphasized.-
As a reminder, U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen visited Beijing on July 6-9.
