The last weeks of May and June will be fruitful for the Ukrainian military. This was emphasized by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his evening address to Ukrainians on Sunday, May 7.

According to him, Ukraine is currently working in great detail on new steps to help the Armed Forces with the participation of international partner countries.

"We are waiting for them (the steps - ed.) in the near future - exactly what is needed for our strength on the front line, for the protection of our sky, for justice against terrorists, and for the speedy restoration of peace for the entire Ukrainian land," the Ukrainian president said.

Zelenskyy also described the points of the plan that the country's military and political leadership is already working on. These are:

  • supplying the Armed Forces with weapons;
  • an important legislative initiative (Zelenskyy did not specify what exactly he meant);
  • preparation of new sanctions against Russia;
  • preparing for meetings with Ukraine's international partners.

The President of Ukraine also expressed gratitude to those countries that have already provided assistance to Ukraine this week. These are the United States, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Belgium, Croatia, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, and Iceland.
