President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on the IAEA to condemn the international raiding of Russia, which announced the transfer of Zaporizhzhia NPP to its ownership. This is reported by UNN with reference to the OP.
"President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi. The President expressed gratitude to Rafael Grossi for his assistance in the release of ZNPP Director General Ihor Murashov, who was abducted by the Russian military," the statement said.
Zelenskyy noted that the decision of the President of the Russian Federation to transfer Zaporizhzhia NPP to the federal ownership of Russia should be condemned by the IAEA, because it is in fact an international raid.
"We have been waiting for a tough statement of the IAEA on this issue. The society is very much waiting for this condemnation. In my personal understanding, this is raiding," Zelenskyy stressed.-
According to him, the only way to guarantee the radiation safety of the plant, Ukraine and Europe is to completely demilitarize the territory of ZNPP. After all, as the Head of State stressed, there are still up to 500 Russian militants there.
Zelenskyy also emphasized the importance of restoring the operation of Zaporizhzhia NPP, which will allow our state to provide electricity not only to Ukrainian but also to European consumers.
"Rafael Grossi, for his part, stressed that the decision of the Russian President to transfer Zaporizhzhia NPP to the ownership of Russia was a violation of international law. On all issues related to the station, the IAEA will contact exclusively with Ukraine," the statement said.-
