President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu. One of the topics of discussion was strengthening the air defense.
This is reported with reference to the press service of the Presidential Office.
According to the office, during the meeting further steps to strengthen Ukraine's defense were discussed, including the possibility of joint production of certain weapons.
Zelensky spoke about the effectiveness of military assistance packages provided by France to Ukraine, which included SAMP/T anti-aircraft missile systems and SCALP long-range missiles.
"Particular attention was paid to strengthening Ukrainian air defense, which is especially important on the eve of the winter period," the Presidential Office said.
At the same time, Zelensky presented Lecornu with the Order of Merit, II degree, for his significant personal contribution to strengthening interstate cooperation and supporting the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
As a reminder yesterday, on September 28, French Defense Minister Sebastian Lecornu visited Kyiv. He came to discuss military assistance to Ukraine.
