Zelensky: UN cannot end the war, there is a formula for peace

The United Nations cannot resolve the issue of war and peace. However, there is a Ukrainian formula for peace.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the speech of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the UN General Assembly.

“Unfortunately, it is impossible to truly and fairly resolve issues of war and peace in the UN, as too much depends on the veto power in the Security Council. When the aggressor uses the veto, the UN is powerless to stop the war,” the President emphasized.

However, he noted that this is why Ukraine has developed a peace formula.

“But the peace formula can do it - again, it does not have a veto. That is why it is the best opportunity to achieve peace - everyone is equal, and it is effective and comprehensive,” he emphasized.

As a reminder, Ukraine has launched its own peace initiatives for a diplomatic settlement of the war. These include a peace formula and a peace summit to implement it.

At the same time, a number of countries have proposed their own “peace plans” for the war in Ukraine. Among them are China and Brazil. Their proposal is to call for de-escalation of the situation and the resumption of direct dialogue, without demanding that Russia retreat.
