Zelenskyy meets with UN Secretary General

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has met with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and President of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, Philemon Young.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the website of the Official Internet Representation of the President of Ukraine.

During the meeting with the UN Secretary-General, Zelenskyy expressed hope that the Organization would respond to the needs of Ukrainians in the humanitarian sphere, in particular in preparation for the winter period.

The President and the UN Secretary-General discussed the implementation of the Peace Formula, the security situation in the country and freedom of navigation in the Black Sea. This is important for the continued functioning of transportation corridors and unimpeded export of Ukrainian agricultural products to global markets.

During a meeting with the President of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, former Prime Minister of Cameroon in 2009-2019, Philemon Young, Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine is ready to cooperate effectively to implement his priorities.

“It is important for Ukraine that during the 79th session of the General Assembly, under your chairmanship, the annual debate on the Ukrainian item “Situation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine” is held, as well as that our annual resolution on the human rights situation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine is adopted,” the president said.

The Head of State also called on Young to support the Peace Formula and invited him to visit Ukraine.
