President Vladimir Zelenskyy has said that Germany should make its own decision on transferring combat tanks and other armored vehicles to Ukraine, rather than being guided by other states, such as the US.
Zelenskyy said this in an interview with Bild, the full version of which he posted on his Telegram channel.
He stressed that the transfer of tanks and other armored vehicles to Ukraine will not put an end to a full-scale war - it is a matter of Ukrainian survival because without air defense and without tanks, more people will die.
"A lot is going around that first let the U.S. give Abrams and show the open door of tanks they are giving Ukraine tanks - and then Germany and other states will get involved. I just want to turn to Germany and say: you are not dependent on any state", - stressed Zelenskyy.
"If you are willing to keep our Ukrainians alive (for it is about saving lives) - any armored equipment, including these tanks - we defend our land, so give us, do not depend on us, you are an independent state!" - he added.
"If you don't want to give us (tanks and armored vehicles), look, no offense, you are an independent state - so don't give it, but don't try to say: first America, then Germany, then it will be Poland. Don't. Everyone must be responsible for himself," said the President. The head of the state said.-
