Iran has begun developing a new kamikaze drone that is similar to the Russian Lancet. Russia uses these drones in Syria and for attacks in Ukraine.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Forbes.
Details of the drone's production were disclosed in a report by the Iranian news agency Tasnim, which is affiliated with the Iranian paramilitary Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
"Assuming that the new munitions manufactured by the IRGC are based on the Russian Lancet, the drone should have a flight duration of 30 to 60 minutes and carry a payload of 3 to 6 kilograms within a range of 40 kilometers," the report said.
Interestingly, the Iranian drone is not a copy of the Russian Lancet. However, it has a similar basic design and most likely has the same range and payload.
At the same time, there is no evidence that Russia has provided Iran with any of its Lancets or even designs for their local construction.
