Israel is retiring outdated Patriots and replacing them with new ones

Over the next few months, the Israeli Air Force plans to decommission several MIM-104 Patriot anti-aircraft batteries.

Details: In February, the Israeli Air Force announced that the personnel of the complexes would be retrained for other systems.

The decommissioned batteries will be replaced with more advanced air defense systems, including the David's Sling system and the widely known Israeli-designed Iron Dome.

Direct speech of the commander of the 138th Battalion of the Israeli Air Defense Group: “We realized that we need to move forward and improve our defense methods. Innovations in the [air defense] system provide better operational and technical response capabilities.”
