The United States of America is asking countries that have Patriot air defense systems to transfer some of them to Ukraine to protect it from Russian attacks.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement by Pentagon Chief of Staff Lloyd Austin at a hearing of the US House of Representatives Armed Services Committee.

"There are countries that have Patriot, and what we are doing is continuing to negotiate with these countries. I've personally spoken to several leaders in the last two weeks, encouraging them to give up more equipment or provide more equipment," Austin said.

At the same time, the Pentagon chief did not specify with which countries he discussed assistance to Ukraine, but expressed his intention to continue making such calls.

It is worth reminding our readers that the US itself has over 1,000 combat-ready Patriot systems. At the same time, they are asking their partners to give up their Patriots.
